Meet Mrs. Fields
I want to welcome you and your child to
2nd Grade! I am looking forward to working with you and your child to make this an exciting year for all of us!
I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1996 from ASU West with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, with an emphasis in Early Childhood, and a minor in Psychology. From 1996-1999, I taught 2nd grade at Las Brisas Elementary in DVUSD.
I spent the next 8 years at home raising my five boys, Justin (15), Jacob (14), James (13), and twins, Jesse and Jonathan (10). In 2007, I joined the Canyon Springs Kindergarten team. After teaching Kindergarten for 4 years, I made the decision to go back to my first love, 2nd Grade….Yes!!!
I have been married to my husband, Jim, for 18 years. My family lives in Anthem with our dog Abby.
In my spare time, I enjoy going to movies, drinking a green tea or coffee at Starbucks, shopping at Kohl's, camping, hiking, swimming, reading, scrapbooking, and getting together with family and friends.
My goal as a classroom teacher is to facilitate each student’s learning and enhance his or her overall growth and desire to learn. Student growth and development is related to a cooperative and supportive classroom environment. It is my hope that this year will be a most exciting and rewarding time for your child in his or her journey to success in learning.
Each child’s success in school is dependent upon many factors, however, the most important factors are the student, the parents, and the teacher working together to provide the most supportive program of education.
Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation. We are going to have a great year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sheila Fields
